You have been handed your walking papers. No severance. Or, something they call a severance, but really isn't.  You want one. Try and get it!

I'M LEAVING.  SEVERANCE PLEASE!
So you want to leave your company - new company, going on your own, etc.  Whatever the case, you can be successful achieving some severance.  Remember, it is not always about money.
